DESCRIPTION

All VIEWS can be made for windows 28-44” (70-110cm) wide.

VIEW A – Jiffy Tie Swag is lined and features bias contrast piping and ties. Shirring tape forms the swag’s soft folds. The depth at the center of the swag is approximately 16-18” (40-45cm). This treatment is easily stapled to a 1” X 3” (2.5 X 7.5cm) board.

VIEW B – Sheer Rosette Swag features trumpets stitched to separate swag and side pieces. The swag is folded into soft folds and the sides are gently gathered. Wooden bead trim highlights the bottom edge. Rosettes add a decorative touch. The finished depth at the center of the swag is approximately 20” (50cm) and the side length is 25” (62.5cm). This treatment is easily stapled to a 1” X 3” (2.5 X 7.5cm) board.

VIEW C –Handkerchief Swag is lined and features decorative trim and tassel. The swag is “railroaded” which means it is cut along the length of the fabric to avoid seaming. Be sure to see Suggested Fabrics. Shirring tape forms the swag’s soft folds that form when the swag is draped over decorative swag holders. The finished depth at the center of the swag is approximately 20” (50cm).

VIEW D – Bell Swag is fully lined with contrast lining and features three “bells” which form tabs. Decorative jute braid highlights each tab and is placed above the bottom edge of the treatment for added effect. The depth at the center of the valance is approximately 20” (50cm) and the side length is 28” (70cm), measuring both from top of tabs. This treatment is mounted on a 1-3/8” (3.5cm) wooden pole.

SUGGESTED FABRICS

VIEWS A*, C** or D: Mid-weight decorator fabrics such as cottons, linens and cotton blends, jacquards, pique, chintz, etc. work best. Lightweight blend fabrics can also be used.

VIEW B: Sheer fabric such as batiste, voile, lace, etc. It’s best to select a sheer that is designed for home decorating use. Dressmaking sheers tend to be very slippery and are harder to handle.

*VIEW A: Also requires contrast fabric, select a similar weight decorator fabric to coordinate with face fabric.

**VIEW C: For print fabrics, select an allover print, which looks the same when viewed from all directions as this treatment is “railroaded.”

SUGGESTED LINING

VIEW A or C: Select a white or off-white drapery lining fabric. Sun resistant or water resistant linings are recommended.

VIEW B: This VIEW is unlined.

VIEW D: The entire valance is contrast lined; select a light to midweight cotton blend fabric to coordinate with face fabric.

Purchase lining same width as face fabric, if available.
